I would like to begin this new blog with a little more about myself. My name is Barry Colbaugh. My main hobby is Georgia History. I have been a reenactor of artillery serving at one time in the 9th Battalion Georgia Artillery and Howells Battery Georgia Artillery. I am a recent graduate of Gainesville State College in Oakwood, Georgia with a B.A. Degree in Technology Management. I was born in Atlanta and have been a lifetime resident of Georgia. I have lived in Fulton, Forsyth, Bartow, Paulding, Hall and Gwinnett Countes all in the metro Atlanta area. I have participated in many historical projects throughout the state.
The quote above is from Georgia Orwell’s book 1984, and I think it applies to me here. My interest in Georgia history puts me in the minority and most people who know me have already labelled me a lunatic. As I share information on this blog I will strive to share the sources and if possible the locations of said info. It would be nice for you to respond in like kind when you share your information. This way you can feel confident that even though you are dealing with a lunatic you can confirm the information and compare facts on your own. Just as with all facts displayed on the Internet, take the time to confirm beyond a shadow of a doubt.
So with introductions out of the way, and if you don’t mid the rantings of a lunatic lets begin.

Wonderful that yo found so much and put this together. I went to high school in Jonesboro, GA but never knew of you then. I lived in Little Five Pints and am very familiar with Ponce De Leon too. I know Grady hospital as well. Looking forward to learning more.
